Sesame Street Expands into Roblox with Neighborhood Adventures
Sesame Workshop has launched Sesame Street: Neighborhood Adventures, a new Roblox hub designed for kids and families to explore the iconic neighborhood in an interactive digital space. Players can create their own Sesame Street character avatars using a new character creator, then dive into themed minigames and activities alongside Elmo, Cookie Monster, Abby Cadabby, and other familiar friends.
“Since our founding in 1969, Sesame Workshop has been committed to meeting children and families where they are,” says Aaron Bisman, Sesame Workshop senior vice president of marketing. “With gaming and immersive experiences growing in popularity alongside streaming video platforms, this launch is a vital new contribution to our audience-first, omni-channel approach. Our mission is to help children everywhere grow smarter, stronger, and kinder and our new Roblox Hub is an exciting new way we’re delivering on that. We can’t wait to welcome fans of all ages to explore our neighborhood.”
The experience features games such as Abby’s Hide and Grow Seek, where players search for missing Magical Beasties, and Cookie Monster’s Cookie Cart Catch, where ingredients rain down for players to collect. Players can also unlock stickers, earn rewards, and receive in-game letters from classic characters by completing tasks.
A highlight of the hub is Magical Beastie Quest, which lets players care for brand-new creatures debuting later this fall in the television series. Additional features include portals to other Sesame Street Roblox experiences, including Mecha Builders: The Game, which has attracted more than 70 million visits since its debut.

Neighborhood Adventures also hosts a special 24-hour premiere of the new animated segment Tales from 123 Nov. 8, with exclusive digital rewards available to the first 3,000 visitors who complete an in-game quest.
Bluey: Bust-a-Move Brings Active Play to Nex Playground
Nex and BBC Studios have debuted Bluey: Bust-a-Move, a new interactive title for Nex Playground that transforms fan-favorite episodes of the Emmy Award-winning preschool series into active, motion-powered mini-games. The release marks the latest addition to the growing Nex Playground catalog, which has sold more than 250,000 units since its launch.
“With Bluey: Bust-a-Move, we’re bringing the joyful spirit of Bluey directly to your living room,” says David Lee, CEO and Co-Founder of Nex. “Bluey has a rare co‑viewing magic that brings the whole family together, and we’re excited for these mini-games to transform favorite Bluey moments into active fun for the whole family. From playing Keepy Uppy with balloons to cooking breakfast with Mum and Bingo, families can jump right into the world of Bluey together.”
Families can join Bluey, Bingo, Mum, and Dad in five mini-games designed to encourage physical play. Highlights include Keepy Uppy, a balloon-bouncing challenge; Musical Statues, a freeze-dance game; and Magic Asparagus, which has players mimic the movements of animals. Additional mini-games incorporate cooking, sports, and family humor, reflecting the show’s focus on imaginative, shared play.

Bluey: Bust-a-Move is designed for kids ages 4 and up, but its gameplay can also be enjoyed by parents and grandparents. Nex Playground is a controller-free system with built-in safety features, including local-only data storage and a camera cover. The platform has steadily expanded its retail presence and will roll out availability in Canada later this month.
The game is available through Play Pass, Nex Playground’s membership program that provides access to its full library of more than 45 experiences.
Video Game Spending Jumps 11% in August
U.S. consumer spending on video games rose 11% in August, reaching $4.7 billion, according to Circana. The boost was fueled by the launch of NBA 2K26, a 6% increase in mobile gaming, and continued momentum from the Nintendo Switch 2, which has sold 2.4 million units in its first three months.
Content sales climbed to $4.2 billion, driven by console titles and subscription services, which grew 25% year-over-year. NBA 2K26 was August’s top seller and is already the fifth best-selling game of 2025, while Madden NFL 26 secured the No. 2 spot. Other strong debuts included Mafia: The Old Country, Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater, and Gears of War: Reloaded.
On the mobile side, Monopoly Go! led the top ten, followed by Royal Match and Last War: Survival, with Pokémon Go climbing six spots. Free Fire re-entered the top rankings, surpassing Call of Duty: Mobile in U.S. spending for the first time since 2022.
Hardware sales surged 32% to $312 million, with Nintendo Switch 2 offsetting declines for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and the original Switch. Accessories spending slipped 6%, though racing controllers bucked the trend with modest growth.
Nintendo eShop Adds Little Nightmares III and More
Nintendo announced a packed week of content across Nintendo Switch and Switch 2, led by the launch of Little Nightmares III Oct. 10. The atmospheric platformer introduces two new protagonists, Low and Alone, who must navigate eerie environments and terrifying creatures in solo or co-op play.
Other highlights include Yooka-Replaylee, a remastered edition of the indie platformer, now enhanced with new maps, customization options, and updated visuals, available now on Switch 2. Nintendo Switch Online subscribers can also access a trio of retro titles: Mario & Wario (previously exclusive to Japan), Bubsy in Claws Encounters of the Furred Kind, and Fatal Fury Special.
Looking ahead, preorders opened for Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment, arriving Nov. 6 with an expanded story centered on Ganondorf’s invasion of Hyrule. In addition, Nintendo expanded its Nintendo Music app to include soundtracks from Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door and launched the seasonal No Tricks, All Treats event, offering themed in-game activities and sales through Oct. 31.The eShop also sees a slate of indie releases, including Disgaea 7 Complete, Snoopy & The Great Mystery Club, and Ys vs. Trails in the Sky: Alternative Saga, alongside a range of digital sales and promotions.
