The Pokémon Company is launching a new split expansion for its Trading Card Game (TCG), Scarlet & Violet: Black Bolt and Scarlet & Violet: White Flare.
Each version is a reference to the generation five legendary Pokémon; Black Bolt refers to Dragon/Electric-type Zekrom, and White Flare to the Dragon/Fire-type Reshiram. The expansions feature the 156 pokémon discovered in the Unova region. Players will be able to search for rare or special cards exclusive to these versions. There will also be three different parallel foil sets, two of which will be adorned with either a rainbow Poké Ball or Master Ball shimmering effect on the card.
Another unique feature of the expansion will be the Black White rare cards, which feature illustrations with monochromatic black and white tones. The Scarlet & Violet: Black Bolt and Scarlet & Violet: White Flare cards will be available for purchase as booster packs, an Elite Trainer Box, a Binder Collection, a Unova Poster edition, a Unova mini tin, a Tech Sticker Collection, and a collection based on the Unovan Mythical Psychic/Fire-type pokémon, Victini. The Tech Sticker Collection, booster packs, and Victini bundle will launch in August, while the other editions will launch July 18.
