Hasbro’s Wizards of the Coast and SEGA are teaming up for a fast-paced collaboration with a series of three limited-edition Magic: The Gathering (MTG) card drops inspired by characters and artifacts from the Sonic universe.
Launching July 14, the trio of collectible drops features both new character cards and reimagined MTG staples, offered in regular and foil editions. The series will be available online.
The Friends & Foes drop includes seven original cards depicting fan-favorite characters like Sonic, Tails, Amy Rose, Knuckles, Shadow, Dr. Eggman, and Sonic’s Super State. Original artwork — including contributions from Sonic artists making their Magic debut — brings each design to life.

In Chasing Adventure, existing MTG cards such as Sol Ring, Fabricate, and Generous Gift get a Sonic-themed makeover, complete with an exclusive Treasure token.
The third drop, Turbo Gear, puts a high-speed spin on powerful artifacts. These include iconic MTG equipment transformed into Sonic-style items — like The Reaver Cleaver as “Knuckles’s Gloves” and Weatherlight as “Tornado, Sonic’s Biplane.” This set is designed to pair with the Friends & Foes drop for deeper gameplay customization.
