Cra-Z-Art, a division of LaRose Industries, has purchased Joker AG, creating the world’s largest multi-compound manufacturer. Joker AG’s brands, which include the popular Slimy, will join Softee Dough, Cra-Z-Sand, and Modelite on the shelves. Cra-Z-Art already manufactures and markets Cra-Z-Slimy.
The acquisition follows the company’s rapid expansion. Cra-Z-Art recently purchased Top Secret Toys and a major interest in Lexibook. Top Secret Toys manufactures Giga Pets, Dissect-it Brand, and Spin Pops; Lexibook is one of the largest global manufacturers of electronic and learning toys for children.
“We are very excited to add Joker AG and its quality products to our growing portfolio of brands,” says Lawrence Rosen, Chairman of Cra-Z-Art. “Joker AG is a perfect complement to our current, popular compound segment and completely aligns with our goal of being the premier and largest toy compound company globally. Joker AG’s commitment to innovation and quality is a perfect fit with Cra-Z-Art’s values, and together, we will continue to tirelessly introduce creative and dynamic toy products that consumers desire and enjoy.”
While Cra-Z-Art celebrated its centennial anniversary in 2003, Joker AG was founded in 1980 in Switzerland. The company is best known for its Slimy brand. Joker AG’s products are distributed in more than 70 countries. The acquisition will aid Cra-Z-Art in an expansion and efforts to reach a broader audience on a global scale.
