The LEGO Group is counting down to the lift-off of its latest LEGO Icons set. Thankfully, adults won’t need to be rocket scientists to piece it together.
The LEGO Icons Shuttle Carrier Aircraft Set recreates a modified Boeing 747, originally used to ferry NASA Space Shuttle orbiters from landing sites back to base until 2012. Mimicking the Enterprise’s look during its 1983 international tour, this 2,417-piece model celebrates a crucial turning point in space travel innovation. The collectible set will launch May 18.

Each ship features several interactive details to delight aerospace fans, like deployable landing gear and detachable tail cones, engines, and wheels that can be stowed in the cargo bay. Collectors can display the model on a gravity-defying stand, complete with information plaques about both ships.
