The Game Manufacturers Association (GAMA) has appointed Melinda Prickett as its first-ever chief operating officer (COO) and deputy director, a move that signals a new phase of organizational growth and operational efficiency for the nonprofit trade association.
“I love mission-driven work, I love making our world a better place,” says Prickett. “When we are operationally efficient, the staff are better supported, our members are better supported, and we’re accomplishing our mission.”
Prickett brings extensive leadership experience, including more than a decade at Girl Scouts of Ohio’s Heartland, where she also served as COO. In her new role, she will oversee GAMA’s day-to-day operations, supported by the office administrator and the finance and operations coordinator.
“By bringing her on board, I’ll be able to focus more on strategic initiatives, advocacy, and strengthening GAMA’s connections with partner organizations,” says GAMA Executive Director John Stacy.
Alongside the appointment, GAMA has reorganized into three departments: Member Services, Events, and Communications. Julie A. Yeager will direct member services, Gregoire Boisbelaud will lead events — including the Origins Game Fair — and Eric J. Francis will oversee communications. Additional team members, including Paul McGraw as hospitality manager, round out the expanded structure. GAMA is interviewing candidates for additional roles, including finance and operations coordinator, events manager, events coordinator, exhibitor coordinator, and part-time committee coordinator.
With these changes, GAMA aims to strengthen support for its members and events while advancing its mission of serving the tabletop games industry.
