
Toys “R” Us is charging into the holiday season with its largest growth year yet, marking 100 days until Christmas with a record-breaking global presence.
The retailer now spans more than 1,500 stores and e-commerce platforms across more than 35 countries. In the U.S., Toys “R” Us is expanding in partnership with Go! Retail Group, with 10 new flagship stores and 20 seasonal shops slated to open by year’s end.
This weekend, Toys “R” Us is opening a 13,000 square-foot flagship store at Chicago Premium Outlets, 1650 Premium Outlet Blvd, Space 525, in Aurora, IL. Beyond an assortment of top toys from brands including Barbie, Hot Wheels, LEGO, NERF, PAW Patrol, and more, the store features a dedicated Babies “R” Us section packed with baby gear, apparel, and essentials for little ones.

Geoffrey the Giraffe will be in the house for the Grand Opening celebration, which begins on Saturday, Sept. 20, at 9:45 am. Families can enjoy giveaways and activities throughout the day. Additionally, this Toys “R” Us will debut an arcade experience featuring claw machines and gashapon machines, including the TOMY Gacha machines, which are all the rage in Japan.
This fall’s new store experiences join the brand’s flagship locations at American Dream, Mall of America, Chicago (Harlem Irving Plaza), Texas, and Dallas Fort Worth Airport, alongside a Toys “R” Us presence inside every Macy’s nationwide. Through its partnership with NEXCOM, Toys “R” Us will also extend its reach to military families with six new stores opening on U.S. Navy and military bases.
“As we head into the most magical time of the year, Toys “R” Us is reaching more kids and families than ever before,” says Kimberly Miller, Global Chief Marketing Officer, Toys “R” Us. “From new store openings with our global partners, to the launch of our second Global Holiday Play Day, to Geoffrey’s Birthday celebrations worldwide on Oct. 17 — and of course the main event in December — Toys “R” Us is creating joy and excitement for kids of all ages everywhere.”

Globally, the retailer is entering new markets in Chile, Peru, Venezuela, Ecuador, Morocco, and Lebanon, while reestablishing a presence in Turkey. Toys “R” Us is also reinforcing its footprint in the U.K., Mexico, South Africa, Asia, and South Korea, where new concept formats are debuting with strategic partner LOTTE.
