Bleacher Creatures has added another member to the bench, and for a good cause.
Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelenskyy will join NBA mascots and professional sports players this season. All profits from the sale of his 10-inch likeness will benefit Ukrainian aid charities. Zelenskyy rose to prominence in his country as the comedic star of Servant of the People in 2015 and was elected to office in 2019. The country has been at war with Russia since a full-scale invasion in 2022. That year, he was awarded the Sir Winston Churchill Leadership Award by The International Churchill Society in Great Britain and was named Time’s Person of the Year.
The company plans to work with several charities, including BlueCheck Ukraine, Razom, and Ukraine Children’s Action Project. It is also working with Robert Rose, host and creator of Raw Travel; Rose is selling the plush through social media and his website to fundraise for Lada’s Orphanage and Care4Ukraine.
Bleacher Creatures sold 10-inch plush collectibles of Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg in 2019 and Dr. Fauci, the latter of which is available online. The proceeds of both also benefitted charity. The company holds licenses for the NFL, NBA, WWE, WNBA, and Marvel, among others.
